Won't Start??

Tried to start the bike today and she turned over fine but would not start.
It passed its MOT last week, during which the mech used the kill switch a couple of times to stop the engine. I seem to remember this is best avoided.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please remember I'm a dunce at anything involving spanners. My dealer can't even look at it for over a week and I'm due to be trying my first standing quarter at the Bulldog Bash in two weeks.

Do your headlights work? I believe the bulbs must be intact for the machine to run. (Also not a techie).

Have you checked for a spark?
I use my kill switch sometimes and don't have any probs, don't think its that.
If it were it shouldn't even turn over.

Kill switch being used would not cause it .

When my battery is low the engine will turn over but not fire.

But it soon stops turning over.

Give the battery a trickle-charge anyway.

No alarm fitted
Both headlights OK
Battery was fine. It took ages to drain while trying to start it so must have had plenty of charge in to start with. I don't posses a trickle charger as it never stands long enough to go flat.
I presume it will be OK to jump it from my pick up when I try again tomorrow?

Really wouldn't recommend trying to bump the R3!

If it isn't going to start on the Starter - take our friend Scotty up on his offer.

Ive got a headlight bulb out , mine still starts

Has not been started for 6 weeks , fitted second hand Jardines today , and went for a small ride .
Its a start .
