Rocket 3 gt
Hi all
We have a 2021 rocket 3 gt , I gave the bike a wash last week after I rinsed it off I fired it up and let it tick over while I dried down bodywork , it was absolutely fine , I put it away until few days ago when I got it out, it switches on fine fuel pump runs but just when I press starter button nothing whatsoever.
I’ve checked and cleaned battery terminals ,battery always on charger and shows 12.8 volts , I’ve checked clutch switch with continuity tester and seems to be working , I don’t know what else to check , it’s looking likely for a trip in a van to a main dealer .
If anyone has any ideas they would be great fully received .
Many thanks swellsy .

If you have water in the TFT it will kill the bike. Check for cracks in the unit and if you find one that might be the problem. This happened to me.

Thanks for reply
The tft looks all good seems to work fine , I’ve checked for any damage on it and can’t see any or any sign of water inside .

The water gets into the button of handlebar controls and eventually corrode the connections leading to poor connections on Red ignition starter switch, i think someone else had same problem here few months ago

Next are -
Clutch switch
Side stand switch
Starter relays
fuses

Thank you for reply .

Does your bike have the US style on off switch on the left side? Then it takes 2 presses on the start button. First press powers up FTF, second press starts bike.

Remember to not get it wet again.
you can get it wet again, its not like triumph manual say that 'dont get bike wet'
after you wash it, just use 100$ air compressor ( like roofers use) and blow the water out of electrical contacts/connectors/switches and you are golden.

As many problems guys have had with the Rocket getting wet then not starting I would also try to not get it wet. I wash mine with a sponge and wet soft rags that take forever but it always starts. The rain and washing doesn't seem to be a strong point for the Rockets. The front cowl seems to be a magnet for trapping water and corroding the wires after a short time. The newer Gen Rockets reward you with a soaked back and ass in the rain due to lack of any rear fender. The engineering doesn't seem water friendly on the Rockets but hey, they have 'Rain Mode'.
