Widowmaker Journey to 200hp, no thats been done. 250hp !

Yep you had me panicking it was your crank cam chain too.
The oil pumps are fairly common on Pinwall and if from a crash victim could be a better option than a used one from a engine with metal bits floating around like my Project Toads engine, so I bought one a few years ago but it was the twin rotor.

I have parts on hand, thanks bud 👍

Nut didn’t back off, oil pump ok except for the obvious broke shaft, water pump is fine. I probably just over torqued that nut and damaged that shaft. ive got that nut figured out now and torqued down real easy this time perfectly. gonna try round the block again, fingers crossed🤞

if that chain is real loose then it may have rolled over (like timing chains do) and put a lot of stress on that gear.

From the look of that shaft, think shaft itself was faulty, looks like metal separated three places. Even if over torqued think nut/threads would strip before a good shaft would stretch and break or twist. Probably never know, if had an old shaft and nut you could measure the length of shaft and over torque to see what happens. Get her fixed and move on to better things. Like getting ready for Konrad.

i failed. motors done! Theres a couple of youll that follow so i wanted to tell ya. When i came home from test ride and inspected the allen bolt that holds crank drive gear bolt came loose. thats when i pulled clutch cover and found oil pump shaft broke, so I repaired, i turned engine over to inspect and noticed something wrong. I pulled cam cover and found damage, i have destroyed this motor. Neville Lush i am so sorry I destroyed your work. I feel so awful. Threads done. for those who were pulling for me to succeed, im sorry i failed.

So sorry to hear that this happened. Do you know the sequence of failures? Bucket gouge the bore and dump material to sump leading to pump shaft breakage? Or other?
