I don't think the 4040s will fit a touring, according to Flipmeister's site, and some members here, different tank.

The filter on Flip's site that is mentioned as not fitting the R3T is the underseat one due to the underside of the Tourer's tank being different. There is no mention of RX4040.

OK ...That I knew but can't see why the rx4040 won't fit they are just about 3 inches taller and 4 inch round than the 2780's

OK, thanks, have to go back and check that. I sent him an email 2 weeks ago asking about other options than the 2780s for the R3T, never got an answer. Guess I'll buy them somewhere else.

I bought my Rx4040 from Wayne Tripp but got my original set of 2780 of Flipmiesters

I believe you are mistaken, underseat filter fits all, under tank, which is what I want, states does not fit Touring. The undertank ones shown have a slight taper, but they definitely aren't the underseat/drop-in one.
