Marty, you need at the very least get a motorcycle oil, and being in Sydney a higher viscosity than what you have. When it comes to your wet clutch you may find problems when it works it's way into the plates...there may be no additives in there to do the right job...
The cheapest end of the scale I dare go is with Shell Advanced Ultra 10W40, it's JASO/MA2 spec'ed and OK for the UK based on the fact I'm in crappy low temperatures...being in Australia you ought to be running a 50 grade oil to retain the right performance at higher temps which means more money I'm afraid.
