Where can I get me some of these for the R3?

So this was sort of a joke at first, but now it's turned into an actual project.

I just bought some old snowmobile skis on eBay and I'm going to rig up on some sort of mounting system, probably using those old cat box holes underneath for part of it.. I don't like the bolting idea in the BMW video and would want a way to quick release them and fold them up for when it's not snowing but if it happens to be clear in the morning and then dumps in the afternoon, all i'd have to do is pull 2 pins drop them down, put the pins back in and presto.

Oh, and running darkside, I'll have to pick up a chain. Found a place that sells them individually instead of in pairs and a single chain is small enough to fit under the seat. SWEET!
 
I thought my backrest was a wild idea. There only remains one burning question...


What is the rebound compression setting for rear shocks used as stabilizers?
 
that video kinda looked like fun..... the R3 might be a bit heavy but something smaller might be a load of fun......
 
I dunno, the R3 isn't all that heavy really.

Snowmobiles are what 450-650 pounds and are routinely thrashed and jumped? I'd be using skis off of one in a fairly constant load.

Probably keep them about 1" off the deck to allow for some leaning but won't need to do a lot of that on ice as speeds would be low anyway when they are in use.

The snowmobile skis already have a leaf spring setup on them so maybe I'll just leave that on instead of using my old rears. Then I could just put the skis on a straight bar mounted under the bike where they old cat box was...

I've been drooling over one of those for winter..... like a snowmobile that can be ridden on the road........
