Went to a Harley hangout in Maine

You might need to stick to Harleys. lol
I wouldn't say that, I just know what I like. The Hondas have too much body work for my taste. Even when I rode sport bikes I prefered naked look. I like to see the engine.

Like I said in another post, if triumph made a full blown touring bike like a goldwing, Electra, etc, that'd be the ideal thing. If they don't, someday I'd like to have roadster in the garage along with a loaded tourer.

Just read this on Club Chopper. He was replying to a guy that just bought a Road King. Lol

"I had 2 bikes I built. A cruiser and a chop. Both very fast. Then I got a brain fart and bought a used Road King because I always wanted one. Rode great, felt heavy, unbalanced and I would get my leg caught on the passenger peg pushing it forward and almost break it (my leg).

A few days later I took it out and tried to pass a line of cars on a 2 lane road. About half way through the line I realized I wouldn't make it before the on coming cars hit. I think I bent the throttle trying to make it go faster but no go. I finally got as close to a truck bed as I could on my right and watch the on coming cars pass me blowing their horns as I was in between them and the truck on the right.

Decided to sell it right there and then. I hope it makes you happy but realize it doesn't have 1/2 the power of a 107 S&S on a chopper frame.... and don't try to pass a long line of cars... LOL"

In 07' or 08' I went to California for a friends wedding. Rented a v-rod as I didn't have the R3 yet. I liked it. The wife did not, not very comfy. Back it went. Got a Road Glide. Felt like it had a hinge in the middle just like my 69' E-Glide. Went on a stag run to a strip joint for a small bachelor party. Everyone nailed it going onto the highway. I did too. Bout got ran over by normal traffic. What a dog. My 69' would have ate it for breakfast, and it wouldn't whip my wife's 6 cylinder Pontiac Bonneville.

That's saying something. LOL I used to have one of those 3.8 Bonnevilles

Hello, Harley Death Wobble. From what I gather the only thing maintaining any sort of rigidity is the upper rear engine mount, if that gets loose the bike will do the rhumba down the road and try its best to kill you and in some cases succeed. Though I'll freely admit to never having inspected or even for that matter ridden a Road Glide, so this is just what I've seen mentioned elsewhere.

I was gonna buy on of these http://www.true-track.com for my low rider, but I haven't really noticed any issues, probably because the stupid thing has no lean angle....

I test rode a few Electra Glides over the weekend. The new frame design on the 09 and up bikes makes a noticeable difference. Much less leg heat on the 09 and up as well.

My next bike has come down to an 09 or newer Electra Glide Ultra Classic or a Rocket 3 Touring. The GF really liked the Electra Glide, haven't had a chance to get her on a r3t to see if it's comfortable for her.
