I missed that you'd joined us. Welcome. Better sometimes to start your own thread.

Go look at the flipmeisters.com website for your filters. Best price. You need 5.

As for the GIPro, I recall it only connects under the small plastic side cover on the left side and to a switched power lead. The instructions are pretty clear. If you don't have them I'm sure you could google some. Also, there's a thread on here with pictures. Try searching. If I can find it I'll post it.

New Rocket Owner

Just purchased a 2012 Rocket Roadster. I pick it up Saturday. I live in Charlotte NC and the Rocket is in PA so I'll have a nice weekend ride on my new ride, about 575 miles!

Hi well lets see I have been riding on motorcycles for 52 years, my dad being one off the first Yamaha dealers state side.
I have just retired from a 48 year stint as a MOTOCROSS racer that had great success and a life time off fun and grins.
I have ridden street bikes since 1972, took out a deer at speed in 1984 walk away(lucky and prepared as you can be) I just had a 10 year stint on a Suzuki VL1500 loved it rode the wheels off it for 7 years, then only 3000 a year or so for the last 3 years because of MX race focus ( took 6th at Unadilla plus 50 class 2011). But they took me kicking all the way last summer into retirement from MX because the arthritis in my spine needed fixing (8 herniated discs grade 3 stenosis at 9 levels), 16 screws 2 rods and a plate later I AM NOW THANKFULL TO HAVE PURCHACE MY NEW ROCKET AND ABLE TO RIDE THIS BABY
Hi to all and I hope I can have fun and learn what is needed to make a ROCKET a joy
73 for now,
P.S. I am also a Amateur Radio operator K2DMB

Welcome Byrd,

We have a lot in common....age enhanced, impairments, deer slaying (I didn't walk away), riding tenure and R3 ownership. Your credentials are impressive. I never competed other than seeing who could jump the highest while hill climbing on a 305 Super Hawk. (This was before MX's were around.)

Glad to have you here. Most folks here are really great. You will realize the couple of others soon enough.

Welcome!

Lots of GIPro users here. I highly recommend them. It is the most bang for your buck at getting more monies to the ground with least expense. That is the first thing I add to a newly purchased R3.

**** byrd, I thought I was sore when I got up in the morning! Welcome The rockets as smooth a beast as your gonna find on the road enjoy.

Hi to all,
Just bought a R3 Tourer and thought I'd join your forum. From what I have read it seems like I have made a wise purchase. Picked up a 2008 with 45,000 kms/ 30,000 miles on the clock which sounds like it is not an issue with these engines. Pick it up in a week, can't wait.
Cheers.
