Vent Leaking what looks like oil

From memory there is 3 hoses down there,one is for the crank vent,one for the fuel tank and one to drain the starter when it gets flooded with water.
I think the one that hangs the lowest is the fuel tank vent.

I think that the crank vent in stock form is actually connected to the air box (for pollution control). Yes?

Ive never tracked it back to its source,but why would owners report oil dripping from there occasionally

please don't taste if you think it's battery acid.....

add bicarb of soda to suspected acid.. if it fizzes stongly it's definately acid...but HIGHLY unlikely in this scenario.
