I was downloading Penners map when it crashed, after about 5 times I did the recovery and it works, Looks like his map is in the ECU, but not sure how to verify. Like I said, when I tap ECU info it says 31025 which is Penners map.

When I decide to do mine I will have a computer savvy mechanic right there with me. Don’t make fun of me I’m scared to death of this stuff.

A bluetooth connection is not very reliable.
I have had trouble with it too from time to time.
But as you can always make a recovery, there is nothing to really worry about.
It will just take some of your time.

On the various tuneECU related threads going on in this forum right now, I’ve seen it said that a wired connection will NOT work; only a Bluetooth connection will work on the Rocket 3. Do we know why this is the case? It seems like a peculiar limitation, as I imagine the bike doesn’t know what type of device is connected at the OBD port. The ODB communication is separate from that between the phone (in this case) and the OBD linking device.

This may be very obvious to other people, but I don’t have the hardware not have I used TuneECU. Is it a limitation of the app? Is there a PC version that can use USB?

The PC version is not supported and doesn’t work in the newer water cooled bikes, including the Rocket. It’s not the Android software per say because it works with the usb cable on other bikes. This is a good question for Tom Tomtom or Alain Fontaine on the TuneECU Facebook page.

Does this look like it will work with MX+

Yes.
Android works up from version 4.0 with Tune-ECU.
MX should work, but most guys I know of, use an LX-plug.
So do I and you can´t go wrong with that.

Been reading through (not all posts) of this topic and i've an idea on how to do upload a new map using TuneECU.

What would really rock is a step-by-step guide with easy instructions, equipment needed, what map to use (seems to be different depending on region, if they are for stock exhaust etc). Would anyone that's comfortable enough with the procedure be willing to put it in a separate post and maybe mods can pin in to the top?
