After working with TuneECU a bit on the dyno, it is good for the price. (FREE)
But has a few shortcomings as a decent tuning solution. Altering the L tables is very cumbersome, as there is no way to input a number directly, or increase the cells as a percentage - as with TuneEdit.

There are a few other glitches when you turn off the power to the engine - the software doesn't like this.

But for 99% of users, it is good at diagnostics, swapping maps, and minor map changes.

I really like the ability to load the existing map from the ECU.

But using it to tune on the dyno - especially low rpm and loads - takes considerably more time than TuneEdit. As a result, I can't see many paying for the extra time required to fully tune the bike with it.

I still give Alain a thumbs up for making it available, and supporting it as he does.

Sounds like better support than Tuneboy.:D

My chineese cable came in today, looks like it will work fine I suppose. Someday I'll get around to playing with it.

Has anyone been able to download the original tune from their Roadster?
I would be interested in taking a look at it if someone has achieved it.

Sounds like the same cable I've had for years to clear "check engine" codes on my V-dubs and Audi's. I have the early version that worked off the serial port and just got the USB version. I often thought about trying out the VAG version on the rocket ecu and vice versa.
