Triumph lost my business !

Some of you talk about a long wait on parts for your Triumph and how Honda and HD are so much faster and better. Well my son bought a 2010 Harley V-Rod the first week of June and had to wait until the last week of July to get his slip-on muffers and back rest, which the dealer told him would be in in 7 to 10 days. So just because they sell more bikes and are convenient with some upgrade parts they to can be irritatingly slow especially to a 28 year old and his first new bike.

It can happen with any bike. That's not the norm for Harley, however. They *usually* have every accessory you can imagine on the showroom floor. It IS the norm for Triumph. They rarely have squat in the way of accessories. As far as parts to fix a bike, no dealer (regardless of make) is going to stock every part for every model of every year. I understand that. They'd need a warehouse to do that. But, there's no reason a dealer for ANY make shouldn't stock the more popular accessories for at least the current model bikes. That just seems like common sense to me. They know what their best selling bikes are and they also know what the most popular accessories are. Additionally, there's no better time to relieve a customer of some additional profit padding (aka accessories) than when they buy the bike. Again, Triumph has a LONG way to go in this department, IMHO.

Our dealer will call around and see if anybody has the part-and offer a loaner bike.

McRocket - While I agree waiting for parts is the pits I'm not sure that I would expect Triumph (or any body) to stock a hard brake line on a new model. While it is critical to you the failure rate is extremely low. It's not good business to stock a part you are are unlikely to move in the quarter.

Why hasn't your dealer just bent up a new one out of brake tubing? It won't be chrome but you'd be on the road.

Help. Need the master cylinder cover !

Thats a shame .... I actually have that exact part sitting in a box never used. Too bad you don't live around here, I'd make you a deal.

Please contact me. I have fabricated a new brake line so all I really need now is the fitting / cover for the master cylinder. The is the piece held in place by the snap ring and has the tube fitting that is fed from the reservoir.

Thank you KingOfFleece. I have gone ahead and fabricated a new brake line so all I need now it the master cylinder cover that has the small feed tube fitting from the reservoir.

I have been planning a trip for the upcoming holiday which is looking pretty bad right now.

Not sure what you mean-but good luck-sounds like you are on the right track. Sometimes you gotta do things yourself.

Yes, Triumph of Buffalo. Jan treats us like family.

Ygransom, my R3T is not a new bike. It's an 08 and the brake line is not chrome. You are right about making a new brake line which I went out and did on my own. The critical part now is the seal/feed fitting held in place with the snap ring on the top of the master cylinder. Does anyone out there know of someone who has a totaled rocket?

Check Ebay. It wouldn't surprise me if there were some parts off of scrapped bikes on there. I searched on the Thunderbird yesterday looking for some accessories on the cheap and there are already guys selling parts off of scrapped bikes, and the T-Bird has only been out a little over a year.

Daryl ... maybe those scrapped T-birds aren't wrecked .... hehe ;)

I didn't !... yes you did. Nope, wasn't me. You can't prove anything. :D
