Do I need one of these cam jig tools to re-install my cams ? Can one be made or is it too critical to be dead on Triumphs way.

People who do this regularly, say the jig is not needed.

Having done mine once, I would have a hard time seeing how to do it without the tool (kindly provided by @warp9.9 )

You're correct, it can be done without the jig, if you have a pair of 20mm open wrenches and an assistant.
Of course it's easier with the jig.
Having the jig and even 1 wrench, it can be done by yourself.

You're lining the cam sprocket timing marks up to the top deck of the head - the jig just holds them there.

You can also make a jig yourself with 6" of angle iron, and a pair of 6mm or 1/4" bolts with nuts (pause the vid at 0:16 and you can see the dims)

Thank You Scott.

Art, Is the cam chain in your video above new or the one that was already in the engine ? If it is new, what is its part number. I ask because it is the 9 plate chain.

That's the chain that came in my 06 engine.
Seems the change to the modern one occurred between that and 10, where my engine had the newer chain.

Are those dimensions accurate?
(Has anyone verified? Sorry, been bitten too many times with bad intel)

TIA
