I just picked up an 08 touring model with 33000 miles. NOW im seeing all these trans issues.
Are there certain years or miles that are particularly susceptible?
Any preventative measures?
If i knew this 24 hrs ago i may not have taken a 750 mi round trip to get one, but im in it now.

I have 66,000 miles on a 2015 rocket X purchased new. Never had a issue with the transmission. It is like everything else most do not mention anything about their transmissions unless it screws up.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

kinda looks like one. this eng design kinda lloks like a 33 indian, ive always thought. these bikes certainly turn heads when they show up.

A lot of 2014 and on have transmission issues. It appears that at the factory some engine transmission's the clips were installed backwards.
are these made in thailand? not that thats necessarily a bad thing. my 07 bonnevile was and it gave me no problems in the 18000 miles i put on it in 2 yrs.

Ya the only oroblem you might end up with is a broken detent spring. Other then that its your typical tractor transmission :D
Agree with Warp. Mine is 08 R3T with 60,000 miles. I just had the 2nd D spring failure. My riding style is pretty tame, and I don't jump on the shifter. The spring issue is a pain in the a__.
