bearing problem...
Wilbur:
When I decided to buy my Classic 3 weeks ago, I specifically asked the dealer (North Coast Motorcycle), more specifically the owner (Mark Moses) about the bearing problem. His reply was that they'd had 3 Rockets with some type of problem in the final drive and that Triumph had replaced the entire final drive. I guess I'll wait and see. I don't think I'll ever explore the limits of the R3. I'm too old for that much of an adrenaline surge.
However, I will most likely replace the Kitty litter box as right now the bike sounds quite a bit like my lawnmower and the popping when you chop the throttle is annoying. I got rid of the popping on my T100 by enlarging the mains and adding a shim to the needle. I imagine it's easier to play with a carbureted engine though.
