I ride with guys on Harleys all the time. Rarely do they break down on the road. They keep them maintained themselves for the most part. If any bike breaks down in our group of about 12 guys on the road we will stop and see what we can do. I can't remember ever where we could fix something on the side of the road that would take two hours, if it would take two hours it probably needed to be trailered or trucked to the nearest town where you could get tools or parts. I really can't imagine this happening every time we went on a ride. If its a loose wire or something that can be fixed on the side of the road with stuff thats with us then no big deal. The guys I ride with keep their bikes maintained good enough that even the Harleys do just fine. I don't hate the Harleys or think they are a POS. I don't have one anymore and don't want one but SO WHAT. I like riding and the comrade of being with friends who feel the same.

HEY DOESNT BOTHER ME I worked at a HARLEY dealer for years and had my own HARLEY RACE SHOP even had the TOP FUEL record for a while back in the 60s so you cant tell me anything about them that would surprise me other than some wild stories about how fast and reliable and how good they stop and handle LOL
"Methinks thou dost protest too much"
Admit it someone on a Harley ran over your puppy when you were a tyke... then years later the ol' lady ran off with an accountant wearing assless chaps on his Harley that was five years old with 18.7 miles on the odo. Then your momma left her FXR to your step sister...

I am enjoying this too much. :)

You guys have been great, funny, and patient, putting up with this silly thread on this Tr3 forum. I won't be posting anymore on this one. I look forward to "continuing education " on this site by all those that know more than I about Triumphs (everybody). Appreciate getting to take part in this very cool community. Will post up my dyno results on my TR3t bike as soon as it comes out of the shop. Thanks again.

I took this

And made it into this

And rode it for 20 years, including numerous long trips. I won't say it never broke, but it always managed to drag itself home without the need for a truck or trailer.

I love the shovel engines ,same as you 20odd years 140000ks it was still rumbling along when I retired it to the shed

While were on the subject. Wife number three did run off with a guy on a Harley. I was on my 8TH med cruise in six years. No big deal just thought I would mention that.o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O
