One of the first accessories I fitted to my Roadster was the TOR exhaust, which also came with a new tune. The TORS definitely improved the exhaust note and by memory gave a slight increase in performance (although I was new to the bike at the time so I was still overwhelmed with the power).

I recently questioned a local Triumph dealer about a tune that would suit the installation of triple K&N filters. I was told that the TORS tune would be compatible although my warranty would be void if any alterations to the air intake system are made. That said I also raised the issue of the retarded timing in gears 1 to 3 and was told that this may have also been dealt with in the TORs tune.

Can anyone advise what parameters are changed with the TORs tune, as compared to the stock tune, specifically in respect to a change in air filters and/or timing?

Steve, TORs tune will be too lean for triple filters - it's too lean anyway. However, it's bull**** to say triples void your warranty. I have them on mine and have had a few - 2 or 3 - warranty jobs done. I presume you're talking about THE local dealer, in which case I'm surprised because they told me triples did not void warranty (but a Power Commander would).

The point really is that if you have triplesnyou need also to do something to add fuel, whether Power Commander, Dobeck, TuneECU, Tuneboy etc. It's these things that might void your warranty. If in doubt you should ring Triumph Australia - Chris, 03 9381 9754 and get a definitive answer. It's ultimately not the dealer's call. I did have a 'problem' with the local dealer because of what I've done but Chris overruled him.

Timing can be fixed easy enough but the TORs tune doesn't do it. I used a GIPro, which you don't really need with a Roadster. Maybe TuneECU is the way to go but could be a warranty issue.

I'm sure Hanso will offer some advice on what else you could do.

At work at moment but will check when I get home pretty sure I have tune in my library to suit or can be made to suit, Yes Richard pretty we'll hit it on the head your local dealer would be the last place I would take my bike to and what he said is 100% correct about the tune once you put a REAL TORS tune in there you had better hang on, I get back to you in morning

In the second post on this thread in the link here, I have put the tune (unfortunately once you have down loaded an attachment it won't let you download it again)http://www.r3owners.net/rocket-iii-roadster/14353-way-forward.html
While this Tune is probably a touch rich for your Roadster with Tors and triple K&N's it would not be hard to adjust in 1 of 2 ways either you tell me it is a bit rich I could modify it and send it up to you or you could come down here and we load it then adjust if necessary after a short run Hell we could even invite Richard down as well

Thanks fella's.

I was a bit suspect about the 'Local Dealers' advise and it seems that I may not be alone.

I haven't actually got the Triple K&N's yet, just investigating options to best setup the bike when I do fit them (probably after the 16K service due shortly). Richard - the suggestion to call Chris sounds like a good insurance policy. Thanks.

Hanso, a question about your tune - does it also fix the timing? Thanks for the offer to help with the tune - I will certainly take you up on that when the time comes (always looking for any excuse to go for a ride down the Clyde and what better way than in company with another R3!)
