The cruise control and built in stereo are for another discussion altogether if the R3T is to move into the "luxo" tourer realm.

The horn...that is still a work in progress.

Dennis

Cruise Control TICK.......I've installed the MC Cruise electronic option...not coz my hand gets particularly tired, but because it's toooooo easy to find yourself saying "yes, officer" on long stretches of fairly straight road.

I've also replaced the "whooppee cushion" horn with the Stebel mini.

I agree completely with you Dennis. If quick release fairing/topbox and cruise control were offered as options for the Touring, I'm sure Triumph would steal some "dresser" sales from HD, Kaw etc......

Was talking to the dealer Friday and they said Triumph had a company at the dealer conference this year and is supposedly working on something. I don't remember the company, but it wasn't Corbin, which is a good thing considering the crap quality I've seen out of their stuff lately.

Top Box looks real cool.

If you're a member of the Rocket Science (RAT) forum (you have to have a logon to see the attachments), you can see a couple of HD/Scootworks trunks that have been mounted using the rack with the backrest removed....

I've attached a couple of pics of my effort below.

Luv what you did with the top box. I take it you used the triumph rack but how did you mount the box on it. Thanks Bryan.

Just fitted this one to mine:)

Mutazu does make a bigger box, or they did. A friend of mine has one on his Yamaha. It looks pretty nice and will hold two helmets. I am putting the smaller Mutazu on my Rocket but I know what it is am OK with that. One consideration, for me, was that my Corbin Beetle Bags open up (not sideways) and a large box would not allow for that. The Mutazu is not a high end box. It is plastic and care will need to be taken not to be too rough. It will break if mishandled. I tried and tried to get paint codes so that I could match the paint but could not get any codes from Triumph. I looked at the code list on the forum but the paint shop said they weren't good codes (at least for the paint I have. Cream and burgundy with a gold pen stripe) I know the correct names and had no luck here in the States. At one time Corbin indicated that they might let me have the codes but it never happened. The shop is going to have a "jobber" match the paint and then will do it up. I'll forward pics after the mount.

That's the one thats on the back of my bike with the the optional spoiler brake light (pre wired to either flash or remaim constant I will also be mounting small led turn signal in the bottom corners, just haven't found ones I realy like yet, I'm leaving it Black so it will go with the OEM leather panniers which mount via S/steel ghost brackets, also because Black looks smaller and less significant  I also lifted the rack 60mm ( the space between the two holes on the Triumph support bracket) to allow the leather panniers to open better (you might have to do something slightly different for hard panniers) so what i did was to cut some 40mm x 150mm x 3mm Stainless Steelplate, Drill three holes in line with 60mm between them and because the rack mounting holes are at an angle it moves the box/rack back about 25mm to give the pillion a better support to lean against. I took that picture not long after mounting the other day the S/steel plates have to come of so I can give them a polish to match the chrome, will post more pictures tomorrow as I have my cert 4 class to day

I know you are looking for hard luggage, but just in case ....

http://www.r3owners.net/attachments...1284781868-ocean-city-bikeweek-0917101310.jpg

This is the link to pictures of Kuryakin's "tail gaiter" bag I picked up in Ocean City at their tent. It's the biggest piece of luggage they make, room for tons of stuff. It has removable inner dividers and a collapsible handle with wheels. It was really handy going around the hotel with the wheels, and easy to remove from the bike. It is a monster, but for travel it's perfect ... leaving on the bike permanently wouldn't be a good idea.

your no help.

soft rear tourmaster

tourmaster makes a big bag with adaptable rods and velcro to fasten to a multitude of backrests, I modified the R3 factory backrest and made a big soft rest for the passenger and also modifed the tourmaster to adapt it to the rear , glued on some reflective material as well just in case since the back rest is angled I also made a canted support fittting on the factory rack so bag and back rest are at the same angle
