Go with the Givi. They make an E55 (55 liter) now. This is what I will be putting on the R3T when I get the funds and reasonably priced I think, Also it will mount to the luggage rack. Just my .02

HA !!! Mo You said "T-Bag"!! Thats a funny. :p

ok, i'm done acting like a little girl now. lol

..... where was I? oh yeah ... I don't have an actual "working" one yet, but the Tailgaiter bag has an optional stereo. It was kinda cheap so I ordered one ... and it was kinda cheap. It didn't work, so I sent it back. It's a neat idea though, the speakers go in the side pockets that open outward and angle toward the passenger. You plug your ipod or whatever into the amp and you have a tailgate party! :D WHEEE!
We'll see how it plays out, if I get one that works.

My wife, who rides a VTX 1300, had one of those "T-bags" and used it for 4 years and really like how much stuff you could cram into it. She got the Givi V46 topcase this spring, it also just mounts to the luggage rack, because she had used mine a couple times last summer and liked the convenience of a hard trunk instead of the T-bag. We still use the top roll bag to pack stuff in and on one trip with our son, him and his girl friend pack up the bag and we carried it for him. With so many selections you should be able to find something to your liking. Hope this was helpful.
PS-The Givi has a one push button for quick removal and also has a carry handle when it is removed, really makes it convenient for carrying it into a hotel.
PSS-At TwistedThrottle.Com the Givi V46-$245, E52-$279, E55-$309, the Admore lighting is also available here and the universal mounting bracket.

Thanks!

Nice looking bike too!

I've sent them an email.

Any other solutions out there folks?

Hi did this in the summer
Givi 46 uni mount on the rack, removed the sissy bar and pad,pad bolted to the box ,had some plug made to go where the sissy bar fitted works well i can refit the bar and pad in 20mins

trunk

These trunks are not as expensive and they look good with a nice spoiler with the brake light in the spoiler and single light, easy to instal and fits a full size helmet and stuff like vest cloves, coffee mug.
With out the helmet I could stuff a lot in there.

If you're a member of the Rocket Science (RAT) forum (you have to have a logon to see the attachments), you can see a couple of HD/Scootworks trunks that have been mounted using the rack with the backrest removed....

I've attached a couple of pics of my effort below.

Pete, the pics were great...it's a shame someone/body hasn't tried to duplicate this and make some money off of it. I know that when I get mine in March (color, as of yet, uncertain) that I would gladly pay for a "fnished" product like that so that all I would have to do is take delivery and bolt it on. I am really surprised Triumph hasn't explored this type of option for the R3T.

I'm surprised that Triumph haven't released something too, Dennis.....

By the time I paid for the HD copy topbox from Scootworks and accessories like liner and backrest, added the shipping charges to Aus, made the mods to the rack/sissybar (and bought another rack/sissybar for when the Chosen One is on the back without the trunk), had about 800 attempts at spraying using about 20 rattle cans(geez I'm good at wet sanding and orange peel issues now), it would have been far cheaper for me to buy the Corbin pre painted in Black/Cream (especially with the current exchange rate.)

Plus, the Scootworks Supertrunk I bought didn't have great quality control. When I undid the dozen or do small bolts holding the lid on(hinges/locks etc), I realised that they had used longer bolts than required during manufacture, and had then snipped off the extra length, leaving a very sharp, ragged edge. After spending 15 minutes working the end of one bolt simply to get the nut back on during reassembly, I gave up and went out and bought some replacements in the right length. Not really what I expect from a company that is charging a premium price for what they themselves claim is a "premium product, much better than HD". Also, the liner provided was just several strips of felt that you had to cut and join. This was a real pain with the trunk angles.....The HD liner is preformed and just drops in.

The only problem with choosing one of the 2 Corbin models is that it only has (or did, the last time I looked) a fixed trunk mount, and I wanted a quick release option.

I'm sure you've seen the Corbin (there are 2 models), but just in case.....Corbin Motorcycle Seats & Accessories | Fleetliner & Streamliner Trunkbox | 800-538-7035

I'm sure that if Triumph made a quick release topbox at a fair price, they would definitely have a market. They already have the quick release technology in place, so you'd think development costs would be minimal.

Robert, I think the Leatherlyke is fine for the Roadster or the Classic and Standard models. I believe that the Scootworks or Harley type trunk was trying to match the "lines" of the Tourer and it's saddlebags. We just want a more "clean" look if we are going to have a topbox. The cruise control and built in stereo are for another discussion altogether if the R3T is to move into the "luxo" tourer realm.

The horn...that is still a work in progress.
