Top speed on your Touring?

Well ive had my modded 2012 Roadster over 180 MPH several times without any handing issues BUT you do have to get down behind the sport screen as the wind blast wants to rip you off the bike

Now you have my attention, with my curiosity engaged.

On what kind of tires and road surface would one do this ? (180 +)

Video would be a plus.

And the power required increases with the square of the velocity. Impressive all by itself.

We have a favorite hiway that has a 5 mile straight that's three lanes wide Im running metzler tires Running the Carpenter 240+ HP mods

Over 100 is just a quick twist - gets there fast. I find I tend to hit 70/80 without really noticing.

But, around the 100 mark have to start holding on, as I took off the windshield.

Been up around 110/120, but normally run out of road, hit traffic, etc.

I'd sure like to go over 75...I got mine Dyno tune at Power Tripp, and now my engine writes the check that the frame/tuning/suspension/tires can't cash. I mean, I can go zero to 75 in the blink of an eye - pulls REALLY hard - but once I hit 75 or so, the head shake starts, and scares the &%$# out of me. I keep trying different things to enable me to go over 75, but so far nothing works: tires balancing; fork check, with pinch bolt check after drift pin of front axle bolt; tire psi sdjustment; rear shock settings.

Next i'm gonna try totally different tires. Gonna be expensive, but, as I said:

I can't drive....85!

If that doesn't work, I may just trade the darn thing for the 1600 Beemer.
I've about had it.:(
THAT doesn't make much sense my friend installed a Carpenter exhaust and retuned his it made 165 HP and 165 TRQ he raised the rev limit and top speed limit now that bike really performs and hes had it over 160 mph many times with more to go if he had a longer road and no handling issues so something is going on with your bike that can be corrected And I rode an R3T with a 245 HP Carpenter package that will run over 160 with ease and no handling problems other than spinning the rear tire when you open the throttle LOL

My Touring gets a weird slow weave over 130, too, I really need to check the headstock bearings

A sobering observation with direct, indirect, benign and catastrophic reasons behind the attritions. Like other forums and blog sites R3Ownwers is a stop along our journey; but likely not the end or legacy of it.
Keeping to original topic: I haven't yet experimented. But 90+mph begins to reveal handling shortcomings that simply have me turn to my K1200R for triple digit work.

Is this big word @TriumPhil in disguise???
