Too much time on his hands

Retirement is a good thing for my father, he spends a lot of time in his shed. It's about a month since he started on the little dozer. Another week or so and it will be finished. Then he'll be looking for something else to do. I tried to get him into metal art and sculpture but he doesn't see art as being much use. Prefers more mechanical things.

I reckon he's got scaling and precision down to an art form ;)

Years ago I picked up a little dozer from a farm out at Merriwa I was carting for the scrappies and it was bound for Simms metal it looked almost complete so I dropped of to a mate of mine who was handy with machinery he got it going and used it on his property for years from memory it was a Ransome crawler not as big as your Dads one but an interesting little dozer your Dad may remember them

Ransom crawlers are fairly common around the old machinery shows. Small enough to go in a box trailer towed by a 4WD.
