Tires...weights or Balls!

Paul . Have you considered mismatched crown radii? - Reason being I suffer exactly the same condition and I wonder if this is part of the issue - in addition to the rather large discrepancy in widths.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean here Chris.

I've always just put this down to a lot of weight on that front tire when braking, or powering through/out of a corner.
When I'm "going for it" as soon as I see the exit of the corner, whilst still cranked over, I'll really pour on the power and allow this to drive me out of the corner, this, I think tends to sledge the front end and it's this that wears the side of the Tire.
As the bike becomes more vertical, the weight is lifted off the front end, hence minimal wear in the middle.

Not sure that I'm explaining this correctly.

Don’t ride to aggressively Paul, their is a lot of people depending on you to make exhaust systems for them!

I actually use air soft BBs. Have for about the last 6-8 years. I get the "sniper" ones that weigh a little more/are a denser plastic. I have actually weighed them during a tire change to compare the "before and after" and any loss in weight was negligable.
They work great and are cheap. Only bad thing is you need to put them in before you get the tire completely on cause they won't fit down the valve stem!
