Hello,

Thank you for your recent email regarding Metzeler Tyres,

Regarding your tyre pressures are as follows, I would recommend;

Front-36Psi (with Luggage/Pillion- increase to 2-3 Psi)
Rear-42Psi (with Luggage/Pillion- increase to 2-3 Psi)

I hope this will help you as the above is what we recommend for you Motorcycle,

I haven't read this entire thread but I got the Metz with the recall. I have since put 10000, yes I said 10K miles on them and still have some tread left. I have removed the secondaries so you know I am putting power to the rear. I ride the bike like it was meant to be ridden. I couldn't ask for anything better. I am going with the Metz again and hope I get the same mileage out of the next set.

The avons appear to be an adequate tire but not reccomended here in the Pacific Northwestr with the rain and wet surfaces.Now 16 posts and 4 from R3T owners(Vent-Vent!)

Hey Bob.......so you find the Avons not so good in the wet? Is this a common finding? I'm about due for replacement tires, and was considering the Avons, but not if they're poor in wet weather.....

ps...and yes....I'm an R3T rider :D I've been caught out several times scratching my head at a response only to realise it's been a response from a non R3T rider on this R3T forum :confused:

I replaced mine at 1500 klm because of the recall . 2008 RT3

At 11,000 aprox . I was going on a long journey so got the dealer mechanic to put his guage on , the rear was on 2.5 m left , if i was gonna ride normal i would of been tempted to leave them , keep an eye on them and see how i go

The front tyre had lots of tread , but was cupping badly enough to notice on a ride especially in corners , so i replaced them both . Sopapprox 9500 klm out of both

The replacements metszlers long journey 6500 klm put maybee 5-600 more on them so 7000 klm and they look ok no noticable wear .

I am a steady rider , the long journey was done with 5000 alone with luggage , panniers full approx 15 kilo in bag 1500 klm 2 up same luggage

I *****ed about the 9500 out of my tyres , but had to admit could probably of got at least another 1000 ouit of them , my old vulcan 1500 classic used to give me approx 10-11000 out of a back tyre , so considering , the rocket probably is'nt that bad .

My street bob i just got rid off , had 9000 on clock and rear tyre was looking like it was'nt going much longer
