Tires Need Replacement For Pa Inspection 8,236K

Hmmmm, I thought the Touring had more choices than the others since the rear wasn't a 240. The R3 has what...? Three for the rear(one being the dark side) and three on the front?

Rear- Metzler, Avon and Dark side

Front- Metzler, Avon, Bridgestone

I'm sure I'm missing something, but what choices do you have for the Touring?

Its pretty much the same for the R3T, except that Bridgestone isn't a choice for the front. That's the tire that self destructed and caused the recall. Mine started to come apart at right around 4000 miles.

Metzler and Avon are the only MC tires that I know of with a weight rating for the R3T. And, both are only H rated, thus the lower speed limiter for the R3T.

Bummer, so the diameter Triumph chose killed the selection for both. Why did they do that anyway? I think we should ask Triumph to share some of the bribe $ from that deal. :p

One inch either way in diameter would have opened up HUGE choices in wardrobe for the girls .... that goes for the R3's too. LOL :D

If it handled better, I might understand geometry as a reason ... but they suck at that.
If it were a clearance issue, I might understand ... but car tires of all sizes fit the rear.

It had to be some kind of slimmy $ deal between Metzler and Triumph, and the customer gets the shaft. That blows.
I don't like Triumph anymore .... SELL IT!

Total suckiness for the choices of rear tires.

My Metzeler has 9k on it and it's almost bald. I don't want to buy another tire. I just had a set put on a few months ago.:(

Well gotta a call yesterday from Capitol Area Triumph, need front and rear tires at 8,236K :mad:I don't beet the monster but they are wore out (UNSAFE TO RIDE) I called Triumph they said Bridgstone picked them, we cannot HELP you out (PETER) I said OK thanks. Was hoping to meet in the middle or something!!!!

WELL IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WORD OF MOUTH KEEP THE PRESSURES AT THE CORRECT SETTING AND CHECK DAILY BEFORE RIDING

ME880 * FRONT SOLO 38-40 * 2UP 40-42 * REAR SOLO 44-46 * 2UP46-48

The dealer or any of them within 100 miles stock them so the SUCKIE part, I have to wait and the weather is absolutely beautiful@ 84!!!!

Where did you get these pressures from? Handbook states two up 36 front and 44 rear. Am asking because at the moment I'm touring France two up loaded with luggage and am using the handbook pressures

15 posts here and only 3 from Rocket Touring owners..How come you classic guys wish to exhibit inaccurate and unuseable information to this forum.ENOUGH OF MY RANTING!!!Your car tire will not clear my R3T baggage area,I bought the R3T for the smaller tire and better handling in the shopping malls and parking lots.I got 9700 miles on my Metzlers' and would have more but went on 1200 mile journey to Nelson,B.C. and wished to have piece of mind so replaced with new tires.I ride sanely and am sure that my milage is attainable to most who ride within their limits. The avons appear to be an adequate tire but not reccomended here in the Pacific Northwestr with the rain and wet surfaces. Now 16 posts and 4 from R3T owners(Vent-Vent!)

Whoa!!!!!! What did the srvice hit ya for? How many valves did they have to adjust? Curious as eventually I will be doind this too and there isnt much info on this forum for 10,000 mile service on the R3T. The tires must of went around $400 than the service at around $1000.00 than tax. Gonna check my pressures when I get home but I think laraza is right about the 36 front 44 rear anybody else know what they're running and the mileage it will get?
