Time for a Texas Roll Call

There are a core of riders on here that generally show up whenever there is an event no matter where it is. Last time we had about 15 or so. I'm not up for handling the logistics on this one as I have too many irons in the fire already, but I would be happy to offer any advice I think might help and show up with a rocket for the ride. There is a very long thread in the RAA forum about the past time this was done that may give you some ideas

Yes, we need an organizer.

Buddy of mine and I did a down Saturday back Sunday DFW - Big Bend a few years ago. Fun ride and good saddle time.
Stayed off the super slab going took 20 back. Both agreed we should have stayed off 20.

All about the back roads!

Yeah.... I'd like to make a run like that too. But, count me "in", if the Texas Rockets ever get together... Russell

Unfortunately that is the worst weekend of the year for me... Wife's birthday.
Otherwise I would be in.

Yes, we need an organizer.

How about the following weekend? 21-22-23?
Like R3Tex, I have many irons in many fires & really do not have a lot of time to be an official organizer. If anyone else can, that would be great. I will be glad to help as much as I can. :cautious:
OR, with such a short period of time to get organized, would it be better if we just keep it small this time? Post an a new thread to let people know & get input. Maybe R3Tex could give us a good meeting place from past trips & we all get our own logistics worked out as to where to stay & eat, ect & just meet at a spot at a certain time on each morning?
Any other ideas appreciated
Then, next year, get after a larger plan of attack, earlier (preemptive strike ;)) - For the Sisters or even Big Bend!

Just what I was thinking. Just meet up with minimal planning and each taking care of their own accommodations. I think Winter time would be great. Less traffic on the roads, cheaper lodging and I love riding in the cold. Whatever is decided I just need advance notice so I can take off that weekend.

Last time the epicenter for the ride was Frio Pecan Farm in Leaky. Great place, great people to deal with and a good time was had by all, not however the cheapest place around. There are a few places in and around Leaky depending on what the group wants to do, but as a general rule with Rocket rides most of the interesting stuff happens when you get back in the evening and the spirits begin to speak around a fire so it's not just about the riding.

Man, I have noticed there are a bunch of "fokes" on here from Tejas!
I met a guy 2 weeks ago at a M/C store in Plano that had a new touring, he told me his brother has a roadster & so far, I haven't seen them on here (I did turn him on to this forum)
A lot of you Texians are not putting your location on your Avatar so it is not being noticed as much that there are so many from Texas.
I bet if we get an official roll call we might even out number the OZzie's! ;)
Come on Steers.......... And queers  (I wanted to be first. Knew it would happen, you smart a$$es) - Sound off
