I don't know if there is a different one. I do know there are 2 speed ratings. Both are high enough for the R3.
Edit to add: Unless you can hit 200+ like @warp9.9 . Then neither speed rating is technically high enough.
I run loud pipes because I think it is safer than a bike fully muffled. From experience, I ride dark side because of performance primarily and cost secondarily. I have two almost twin R3's. One with Metzler the other a Falcon. Much prefer the Falcon. Yes it feels slightly different at first but actually prefer the way it feels. I will always go darkside on a larger cruizer. Smaller bikes a different story.
Point of interest. The first chopper I built back in 71 (650 Tiger) had a custom 5 spoke steel wheel from Bill Industries. It was wider than stock and I had a problem finding an appropriate tire. I found a tire from JC Wittless that was sold as a replacement for an antique car. Don't remember the size . It did not create any adverse handling issues because it was not that much wider than a stock tire. Worked well and was still on the bike when I sold it many years later.
Also, just for fun, go back and count the few posts from pro dark siders. Then count the numerous posts from anti-DS. Why are the negative DS-ers so compelled to campaign so strongly? Some just can't stay away and are usually the ones who start the name calling. Really strange. Almost as if it is personal.
The Exedra has both radial and bias ply types; the Exedra Max only comes in a radial in the 240 size. Make sure you get an Exedra Max.
Been said many times before, but there is an Exedra front in OEM size but no Max. If you want a Max front you will need to drop down to, I think, a 130. The Exedra front is not a great option in my opinion.
Only if you're running ABS and don't appreciate quicker turn-in, better tracking and a much lighter feeling, more responsive and more easily maneuverable bike, Richard!

Phil, I was referring to the plain old Exedra in OEM size. Actually I said it directly. I've not tried anything smaller on the front, such as the Exedra Max. I'm sure it is everything you say.
The Exedra Max pairing that I'm running for the last two seasons (240 rear/130 front) is truly superlative both for wear and optimal handling. Unfortunately, a 130 in front just isn't safe to run on our bikes that sport ABS brakes.
