Time for a new rear tire, car tire or bike tire ?

I said I would not argue the point and I am not but here is a little info for you, if I had a spare $770.00 I could have gotten a certificate from an official RTA (roads and traffic authority)NSW make the car the completely legal as I had said earlier my insurance company had no problem as long as the DS (car tyre) was not the cause of an accident they also added that if I were to have it certified by RTA then no other Insurance Company could contest it ether, only reason I did not go ahead with it was that I did not have to spare the $770.00 required for the RTA engineer to hire the police test area, I might add the Engineer said he had seen several bikes with car tyres and had no problem with them, further more I have had an insurance claim and there was no question nor doubt.
So please can we let this go we will never agree on the topic and it gets a bit tiring reading the same old dribble time and again

WTF??? o_O I've been busy for a couple of days occupied with something actually worthwhile and have just seen this BS. What is your problem mate? Seriously?

Do you actually read your posts?
I feel I have articulated myself clearly.
You called me out by stating that I am attempting to be a censor. I am perplexed by this accusation and feel it untrue and unfair.
That was truly BS! I am merely attempting to get you to be responsible and provide me with an explanation of why you did this and what was your basis for doing so. Should be easy peasy, Mate.

I read mine, do you read yours? I even copied yours so I wouldn't be accused of misquoting or using your words out of context. You said very clearly that only people of a particular view should post in the thread. I said I was glad that didn't happen. I know you posted a partial retraction, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to be pleased the discussion wasn't stopped. Get over yourself; other people, even me, are allowed to have views and not be called out by you to explain them. It was the notion that you introduced I was responding to. Not my fault if you are going to be sensitive or infer they're directed specifically at you. Now could please stop this harassment. I'm done with this one anyway.

"You said very clearly that only people of a particular view should post in the thread."
Sorry, Mate, but this statement is myopic and a flat out LIE!!!

Holy $hit this gets old!
With no offense intended to the aforehand, I have ridden a car tire motor and would not use one.
I totally respect anyone's right to do so. Those that do this have many issues to discuss such as fit size, profile, air pressure as they shop for the CT that best emulates a MC tire.
This is a thread dedicated to "The Dark Side".
Why don't we just allow folks to discuss their car tires in peace without continuous harassment?
This thread should be a safe zone.

I believe this is the quote in question. I also interpreted the last 3 lines to mean that you didn't think it appropriate for some to question the use of car tires on a motorcycle in this thread. It seemed to me that the OP was asking for this type of discussion, that is why I moved the thread.

Now, this is exactly why I copied your post initially. You had a problem with that. Now you have a problem when I paraphrase it. Everyone can read that you wanted the thread as a safe zone for discussion of car tyres and car tyres alone. I'm not having a dig at you; I'm genuinely pleased the we got some real information.

Thank you and I do accept your point regarding the OP. I viewed this the same as if folks went constantly posting on the Touring forum how they suck and that everybody should buy Roadsters? This would be inappropriate and beyond rude, IMO. I believe your move of the discussion was correct and appropriate and the discussion went on just fine.
The Darkside forum was indeed the incorrect place for the thread and I did react to the negativity against those who choose car tire usage even though I will never put one on my motor.

My issue with Richard is that he accused me of censorship which I took issue with because I am strongly against it!
Nuff said - twas a ****ing waste of time!
:p

Since I have an opinion and can voice it the same as everyone else here, and to use the very wise words of a Tomcat I agree to disagree or was it disagree to agree... let it be already and move the fark on guys... I have used both types of tires on bikes, insurance or not, be safe out there and enjoy the ride, whatever floats your boat... words on a website forum gets twisted around, shake virtual hands or strangle each other already...

Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication or other information which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or inconvenient.

You are correct, you didn't censor anything. You merely proposed it. My apologies.
In any case, I used the word in jest. Get over it!

Today i spied another sharp bit of metal hanging out between the tread on my rear tire , removed and plugged, thats now 2 plugs in that tire , really need this tire to last another 5-6 weeks , that way i can have the new one put on just before RDU
