Sad but true Death Valley in Summer any year would be dodgy and having ridden extensively in Central Australia and the NW Kimberley and NT Top End in Summer know the need to keep hydrated and wear protective clothing like full ATGATT to keep your moisture loss and wind burn under control. Being wet with sweat in a jacket with vents is actually cooler and less dehydrating than no jacket at all, especially the radiant heat.

not prepared for a ride with no real supplies.

This is the equivalent of going for a 20 minute hike in the grand canyon in August with only a water you filled up at the park fountain and a snickers bar in your pocket, and the shorts and t shirt you flew over in and nothing else thinking it will be fine. There is a show called i shouldn't have survived and almost ALL OF THEM are like this moron who went for a ride with no preparedness.

The hottest place I ever drove though was an area in WV, nothing but strip clubs, liquor stores, ally cats, and gangs for like 5 miles.

I park my scoot at about 110f, I can still do it but the fun is gone.

The age of rider has to be considered. The young can endure lots of abuse that older people can't. The miles I daily rode at 100f+ and hotter as a youngster are long gone. A couple of few hours in that heat now at age 62 and I'm whooped.
