The Official Rocket Across America IV Thread

Absolutely, everyone is welcome. I'm hoping to have a Sport Glide (sister) and a Ducati (niece and boyfriend) meet up with me. They would be arriving with my brother (who will be a new Rocket Captain in 2 weeks) along with his girlfriend on her Bonnie. Mo the merrier!

I was wondering if it was alright if my cousin Mark, his wife and a friend come along with me and participate in the festivities. They ride a Yamaha and a Honda, (I hope they can keep up). Mark has never ridden anything like the Dragon and really wants to go.
Let me know if this is OK.
Dave
One hardley ableson lieutenant was converted, on the group ride, at RAAII. Before days end he was promoted to Captain. Of course it's ok. And they don't have to stay in the rear, if they don't slow down progression:D

Short Route suggestion

Presently the plans detailed are for a 175 mile loop on Saturday and a 225 mile ride on Sunday.
I've suggested a shorter router for Saturday. I figure ~ 140 miles using mapquest:
Maggie Valley to Stecoah 45 miles. This section for this total route would be traveled twice = 90 miles. Stecoah through Robbinsville to Tapoco via the Dragon, 25.5 miles. Tapoco through Fontana Village to Stecoah via the Hellbender 28, 24.5 miles. That 50 miles of the most challenging roadway in America, so I hear. Any seconds?? Votes??

Sorry Skip . . been out of town.

I'll take two of each

I havent started to make up a shirt yet but plan to. I have actually been pretty busy this spring. This job is starting to cut into my free time . .;)

I sure know what you mean Dave.
Gotta give "the man" 40 every week and they know I'd rather be riding.
Oh well, gotta finish raising kids and pay them notes.
Sure wish I could figure out a way to have fishing and riding pay me, but so far, no luck on that.
It seems like every hobby I have, the money flows the other direction.
Got you down for 2 each though.

I had an ol' riding buddy from my days in Texas that went to work for a major motorcycle mag for a while. It was great the first 6 months (great for me too cause I got to try out a bunch of stuff) but then it truly became his job and the joy was gone. I sometimes wish that I, too, could find a way to ride and earn a paycheck at the same time but then I think of my old friend. I don't even know if he is riding any more. I'd hate that to happen to me.
