Here is a pic of my other ride. She is a Percheron / Paint mix and basically a big puppy dog (except when she spooks every great once in a while, she has the get up and go of a Rocket so you better be holding on tight)
HeR3tic those routes sound great and will provide more social time for the group. Hellbender 28 is a great riding road but not a lot of scenic pull off's. but the lake in fontana is beautiful and the fontana Dam is something to see.
Perhaps on the return from the dragon on saturday we could continue on 129 to robbinsville pick up 143 to 28 this will keep us from returning the same way we can. Just a thought I love to ride the hellbender so twice is fine with me.
Also for the Movie buffs in the group we will be near the Cheoah Dam (This is where the dam scene from the movie The Fugitive was shot) we could return this way and not add any time we would continue on 129 towards robbinsville to 143 and on to 28 to 19 and back to maggie valley.
Information from our Host for every one to review......
Here are some ideas that I had for your group. Let me know what everyone thinks and we can settle on something.
I suggest that the BBQ event should be held here at A Holiday Motel on Sunday, May 10, due to the fact that Mother’s Day is the BUSIEST day at restaurants in America. Also, as you mentioned it could be considered a farewell dinner of sorts. If the “group” prefers Saturday instead, we can make it work just the same. For those who’ve not yet visited us here, we have a large grass area with a bon-fire pit next to the (seasonal) pool area. It is my suggestion to have this be the area where your BBQ event be held. I can also provide an indoor option for up to 40 ppl if the weather is wet. Additionally, I have several ideas for your group concerning breakfast. Our onsite breakfast café will serve you one of the best breakfasts in Maggie Valley. We are planning to offer your riding group special privileges at our café so stay tuned regarding those details.
