The Official Rocket Across America IV Thread

agghhh...mounted a new front tire for the trip but it won't stop raining to where I can go out and scuff it in. I guess I'll have to do it on the way down to MV.

Having never met anyone here I am looking foward to riding up to Maggie Valley. I cant confirm that I'll be there because of the tire recall.

screw the tire recall. if it's not wobbly, ride her. if she is wobbly, put a goodyear on her and come on up.

looking forward to meeting you... and everyone else.

Just ignore it FLDave til you get back You weren't thinking of testing the Georgia Hwy Patrol's hemi's were you Just keep you're riding to T rated tire max speed and your front end on the ground during launches.
I just swapped out the front to a Dunlop Elite3 with DynaBeads for balancing...smooth as glass

Thanks for the heads up scowherd, scot in exile we moved across the street to be with the rest of the herd. FLDave, I used Ride-On, for the back which balances and seals in case of a misplaced nail you may pick up. New front didn't need any balancing but have the bottle of it just in case. Last year my trip was hampered by an undetectable leak we determined leaked when rolling. What a royal pita to have tire issues on a long ride.

3 more days

I don't know about you all but I am getting very excited. It time to put the planning behind us and do some riding and partying. I have looked at the weather forecast on the various sites and it is shaping up to be a typical spring weekend for the area.

Will we experience some rain, it is certain but it will be scattered and go away as fast as it comes. So everyone should be prepared for a few showers but nothing major. The only true way to know what the weather will be is to walk outside when you get there so be prepared and hope for good weather. The temperature Can vary 10 to 15 degrees due to elevation and time of day. Bring layers, rain gear and a bike cover.

If you have questions about the area or see anything that has been missed please let me know. I want to make sure this is an enjoyable and memorable trip for all.

Looking forward to meeting everyone for the first time, be safe and keep the rubber side down.

How is Flip?

I heard Flip had breast implants, how is his recovery? Hopefully Gunshots and Tonymac are caring for him.

Flip, you will be missed no doubt! We do want to see pics and expect to see your new self at RAAV.
