The Official Rocket Across America IV Thread

Our hosts had offered space on their marquee...

.....TRIUMPH 2300.....
ROCKETS ACROSS AMERICA
.RAAIV..SPRING LAUNCH.
...MAGGIE VALLEY 09...

Is it to early to start talking agenda. I have taken several groups to the area for long weekend rides. and have lots of information availabe on rides, Resturants (Complete with Menus) Routes/maps and attractions. I would be happy to provide if anyone would like to review.

I have attached a microsoft word document I used for my last group trip I planned to the area I modified it to fit the dates and lodging locations for RAA IV. I apoligize in advance as you can see i am a bit OCD :) But planning Motorcycle events/trips is my hobby. Please feel free to use what ever you like from this document. Or let me know if any help is needed.

Excellent work Scowherd. I'm inclined to take it a bit easy on Saturday, after a long ride to the rendezvous at Maggie Valley. I'm thinking the Blue Ridge Pkwy to Deals Gap via the 28 "hellbender" then south on 129 to Robbinsville on Saturday. I know this delete the Cherohala Skyway. A bit of a primer for the uninitiated, that would be me. Allowing for more relaxed stops and fellowship and more picture taking along the route ending with an early good night. Sunday: Then following your lead, as laid out. To each his own. As for list of accessories; tdragger's wife will bring enough for everyone, based on their test run photo. :D

http://www.cherohala.com/maps/tourmap_2005.gif That does look like a great route, now that I see it. But I'll still hold off until Sunday for this length of a ride.

Dog gone Steve,
Looks like you got it all pretty much laid out for us.
planning like that will insure ANOTHER successful
PARTY,,, I mean weekend.
RAA4 destined to be as good as RAA3.
Time will tell..:)

I understand there are several attractions in Maggie Valley including the MC Museum? This and other places might round out my Saturday. I've a need to stop and spend some time at the Cherokee Museum in Cherokee as well. As I say, to each his own. Be sure to pack along extra thermals for later along the ride.

Same here . . . after doing a 500 miler on Friday . . I dont think I want to do a 250 on Saturday. Just my own thoughts though. Another attraction I may go to Sunday Evening is the play in Cherokee . . Unto these hills. Very good. That shorter route for doing the Dragon on Sunday sounds good though. HeR3tic . . you may have a booger stickin to ya. :p
