The "Competitive Bike Trade Advantage" ad

Yeah, the Rocket definitely qualifies. Here are the Ts & Cs:

Competitive Bike Exchange | Harley-Davidson USA

The $500 credit is in addition to the dealer trade-in quote. The thing I find a bit amusing is the high and mighty, elitist mentality HD admitting they have competitors. It's about time they woke up and smelled the coffee. ;)

They definately know they are not competitive price-wise. They came within one Union Vote of moving their plant from York, PA to Kentucky. Major concessions including laying off half the employees, cutting wages and benefits.

How does everyone like those HD adds that have been appearing lately? I wonder if the Rocket would be considered a "competitive" trade. Wow and an additional $500 to boot...almost makes you wanna..........

PUKE! sorry, I was just finishing the sentance that was presented. I for one am glad that some choose to trade their Rockets for HDs. I picked mine up at a Hd dealer after someone traded it. it is a 2005 with 12K, windshield, floor boards front and back, engine guard, bags, passenger jel seat, back rest and rack, and I even got in contact with the previous owner who sent me the service manual, all the old parts, and a brand new tank pad he hadn't put on yet. He told me he loved the bike but got crap service out of the dealer so he traded. Too bad he didn't have a Baxters to go to......
I would have easily paid twice what I did to get a comparable HD.

Molinoman.......Thanks for your service to our Country!

and what did you pay?

$8K I hope thats a good deal cause I been telling my wife it was a bargain that I couldn't pass on......also it was love at first sight.

As long as you thought it was a fair deal, bonnie, that's really all that counts! When did you actually buy it?

just before Thanksgiving......I think.......Memory not so good and too lazy to go look at the paperwork in my freezing cold garage.........scared to ask my wife if she remembers....Put on only about 700 miles before taking it to Baxters for the paint can rattle fix.

I would never trade my rocket for a HD. I can't belive that is even there, but i guess it pay's the bill to have the site up and running so thanks HD. LOL:p

That is my only problem with Triumph , the **** dealer service after the sale. I know some of you have good dealers and I do most of my business with Gengras in Florida because they seem to care and will deal with you on parts prices. But around Delaware, Triumph is a red-headed-step-child and dealer support sucks. If I didn't do most of my wrenching myself, I couldn't afford to own a Triumph. I couldn't imagine total reliance on a Triumph dealer in this area, it just isn't feasable. It's a **** shame too, good product .... lousy support. Daewoo had the same problem, the Leganza was an awsome car for the money, GM knew it and shut them down. Triumph is lagging due only to neglect, they should get more involved and beef up their dealer network.

dealer's

Dealer ,now you hit a bad spot. My dear stopped selling triumphs. Back roads in Jacksonville, NC. And the Raleigh NC dealer stopped too. The next one i can go to is in Fayetteville,NC. I don't mind the ride on the bike but why are they not selling anymore?
The only thing they said when i asked. Was there not selling good enough. Well when you don't advertise well you don't do well. There great bikes and people love to see mine. And i got a 1st place trophy to prove it is the bike to win metric cruiser class.
Anyone else have a clue about this?:confused::confused:
