Texas Cooling Vest - any opinions?

TEKNIC make a really good full mesh jacket. Good protection in case you go down .. gets pretty bloody hot here and my TEKNIC does the trick.

There is a problem with just about ALL mesh jackets. The mesh linings melt under severe friction. Aramid (Kevlar) wont necesarily rip but it can get bloody hot (enough to BURN skin it touches).

Here it's as warm - A good ventilated leather Jacket should be fine - i.e. Vanson ProPerf leather.

Double leather across the shoulders is a HUGE advantage in strong sun. I ride a lot at the moment in 40ºC temps - strong sun - with a Vanson Cobra Jacket and ProPerf jeans.

Short runs I use a Halvarssons CE protection Jacket (LEO spec) - the sun is too strong across the back for long runs. This I'm working on.

Those look great, but I think I'll have to save a while $$$ How are they in congested traffic?

Traffic - I don't go near it unless I really have to. They were fine running through traffic in Neuss & Düsseldorf though.

I just invested in this vest the grey colored model wear it over my regular leather nothing to do with heat but IMHO the best protection in case of a fall
