Swap my Roadster Controls For Standard ones

Whats a Standard Model??

Just spoke with the Dlr I bought my new bike from and he wants to know what everyone is calling a Standard model, according to BMW cycles of Daytona there is either a Touring model or a Classic model,no standard model? So which is the standard model that everyone here is talking about. thanks gentlemen.

How can that be seeing as your bike is neither one of those models

since 04 when they came out there have been
standard
classic
tourer
touring
roadster

standard was a plain bike three exhaust pipes forward controls grey or black motors depending on year

classic had different bars two tone paint floor boards black motors and different kickstands

tourer was a classic full dressed

touring is a whole new bike different size wheels and wheel base instruments on tank like a harley and hard saddlebags that look like they came from a harley
is bike has one headlight and is detuned

roadster walk out to your patio and look

your dealer is an idiot or at least the person you talked to is .
i would be very leary of that dealer if they only think there was 2 models made of this bike . every year the models changed in little ways slowly getting cheaper imho

hope this helps

Rocket3jjd,,thanks so much for answering on my post. One thing for sure I think you are correct as I spoke with a local dealer here a few minutes ago and he said the same, there is a standard, the BMW dlr salesman asked someone else there but thats what I was told. Its tough when you don't know, and I don't know anything but what Im learning here on this new bike I own. Again thanks for the reply, some don't.

I'm exhausted ... I offered you some parts, unpacked them to take pictures, gave you a price, exchanged over a dozen emails over a couple weeks trying to help you with questions and now you want me to take it to the post office before you buy it so you don't get over charged a couple bucks??

That's what he means by "WTF?"

How about YOU send a pre-paid mailing label along with the $250, that way you can be sure you don't pay more than you have to.

I'm done here, buy it or not ... I don't care.

I just had to share this latest round of emails from good old Gary1945, thought it a shame to not let my friends share in the laugh.

No,your going to take it t the PO and make **** sure Im right,or like you say,we can forget it now.Your not going to dictate your own postage my friend.Either take it to the PO and get what you know is the correct postage for what i asked for,Parcel Post ,with del/conf,and fully insured for the $250 you want for your parts and then their won't be a shortage.im done too till i hear back from you . have a good day. Gary

No, thank you Gary ... you just gave me good reason to say go F@CK YOURSELF, I wouldn't sell you a pile of dog sh!t now.
I'm sorry I wasted my time trying to help.
Consider this hearing back from me.

Im sorry you have had to bend over backwards trying to sell these to me.I really do want to purchase a set that will work and i believe yours will. I also do Not want to over pay any for shipping as its out of my pocket thats why I asked you the box size and dimensions so i could get the correct shp. cost to send you from the postal website and not the $40 you requested for it. I live on small money and I know you could care less like you posted me of that fact also. After I sent you the charges from the PO website you say the cost will be what it is when you ship it.Thats fine,in order to find out for sure at your end ahead of time so you can tell me what your PO tells you is for you to make the trip to the PO and find out exactly in writting as they will give that to you free of charge for when you do ship it. Im patiently waiting on that from you before i send your MO. thank you.
