Swap my Roadster Controls For Standard ones

you pay for shipping for your controls here and i'll do the same for my standard setup to there and its a done deal.

Gary you can't beat that deal, since you aren't riding just remove your engine bars with everything but the master cyl attached, along with shifter and brake pedal. Since the kick stand will be part of the package you will need to block the bike up so it remains upright while you wait for Hegels parts.

It's up to you guys to decide if you want to trade solid brake lines between the rear master cyl and frame since they will be different lengths. But If they have enough bends in them like when going between standard and classic, you should have plenty of room to make slight bends without having to open the brake hydraulics. Worst case there is that you either swap the lines, or just have one made to length at a real parts store.

Ok,,where is it safe to block up the bike,i just have a patio to work with and I have a alluminum jack that I used to jack up my VTX1800C with along with a pepsx horshoe stand that i used to put under the VTX after letting the jack down and then the X sat on the stand as it has bottom frame rails for it to do so.,I think these maybe useless I guess. Wish someone lived close that is up on the R3 to work that was up on getting it jacked up.Ive no transportation at all except when I can get my sis to run me to the store,,Better yet where is it safe to jack it up at under the motor that hangs down on my 2012R3Roadster. Fellows I don't have a clue on this, the swap is a easy word and Im all for it, no problem with the shipping of the parts either,I just have zip to stabilize the bike with and don't know where its safe to put boards at under it.Scotch the rear wheel thats not a problem or the front either, its getting it up and balanced where its safe to work on it. I can get my hands on some 2x4's and maybe some short 2x6's maybe. weve got a deal my friend I just have to get it jacked up somehow. I need some pics or something to show me where its safe to prop it up at.I have no way or where to take it soit has to be on my patio by my front door. Ill pm you my address here in Tall Fl. hegels. Gary

Does anyone have a Jack stand that I can borrow that I hear goes in two holes under the bike and holds the rear wheel off the ground. Id pay shipping both ways to get to use it so i can get the rails off for this swap? LMK. Thanks. Gary,,Or maybe I can afford to buy one if its not too expensive,i don't know who makes them though??

HellFire, does that mean I leave the shifter and brake pedal attached too the rails also that I send to hegels,im working in the blind here so i want to make sure he gets all hes supposed to and I don't have to make a second shipment for messing up getting it all to him to begin with.

I just want to say that i'm still evaluating my current setup to see if i can live with it. also considering just going with rearsets to help with the buffeting on my pants when i ride

i'll report back when i decide but for now assume I am sticking with what i have

I still want to know if that portable piece that goes in two holes and you push bike rearward and the piece raises the rear of the bike up, will do to get the bike up to remove the rails????

Hegels did you just add your bike model to your profile? You both have Roadsters ... hence the same peg position, a trade won't do either of you any good.

I still have my new takeoffs for 2008 Standard if interested. But they aren't free, you could always put the Roadster parts up for sale later to recoup the cost.

Hellfire,,One more time,,I still want to know if that portable piece that goes in two holes and you push bike rearward and the piece raises the rear of the bike up about 3/4 of a inch, will do to get the bike up to remove the rails????

Does anybody have a answer to this question ive posted several times or does this not exist???
