Stuck in France

Thankyou Dr
The situation now is that Europe Assist have organised my bike to be taken to Triumph Rennes who have said they can’t look at it for a month!! What crap customer service. I’ve certainly gone off Triumph as a brand.

Europe Assist have also arranged hire cars to get me to the ferry port and then home…I’m to leave my bike in Rennes….

OMG!!! I do not blame you for leaving Triumph brand forever. You might have to buy a Japanese machine in the future to ride with more confidence. Sorry about your ruined vacation.

anybody in France that could at least go try to start it with the key so as to put them on the correct path like
address key fob problem or whatever the problem as
a plan a would be nice instead of wait a month then we may have a plan a
in my bussiness i put the out of towners first in line for diagnoses even if i have to reheat my dinner.
there is people that care and people that do not :(

Here it is again. Keyless more trouble than it is worth. Give me a good old keyed ignition.
I agree my friend although I have never, ever had a single issue with my 4 wheel vehicles using the FOB. I have had key FOB's in my different cars for the last 15 years and none of them had problems. I liked the ignition keys in my 05 and 14 Rockets. Zero problems. I'm not against the idea of FOB's but unless you break or lose the ignition key it will start your motorcycle. Using the FOB, starting the Rocket hundreds of miles from home gives me a slight butt pucker hoping it starts. 😓

I don’t believe it is the fob, I’m hedging my bets towards a micro switch.

Latest update is such that RAC Europe Assist failed to arrange hire cars for me to drive home, after they had promised to do so and I altered our ferry crossing to accommodate them.
They have now booked me a taxi to take me the 127 miles to the ferry terminal. My local Triumph dealer (and Triumph customer services) have come up trumps hopefully in that the dealership, namely Total Triumph, Taunton will be picking me up from the UK side of the ferry crossing (which is 5 hours and doesn’t arrive until 2145 tomorrow). Triumph themselves are to arrange collecting my bike from Rennes, France and delivering it to Total Triumph for full repair.

There might actually be an end to this drama after a holiday, wedding anniversary and my birthday all ruined 🤞

I have used Total Triumph Taunton recently, and they seemed to me, to be a a good bunch of people with a can do attitude. I wish I could say the same for my local dealer. Taunton is a long way from the Derbyshire Peak District, unfortunately for me.
I hope your luck improves........Keep us in the loop.
