strange gearbox occurance

Sounds like one of our resident gurus needs to expand their expertise into trannys (easy Jim...didn't mean you)

That was exactly my thought with my 05, tried to get it to break within the first two years. Put nearly 50k miles on it, the only things that "broke" were the oil tank O rings.

I think mine was built on a wednesday too, before the first marijuana break.
IT only takes 1 bad mistake and you can damage any gearbox so your bike was built correctly and your a good operator so keep on riding and enjoy

I've been estimated (note estimated not quoted) a similar price by 2 dealers here for what I suspect is a similar problem with my box.

gear box problems revisited !!

the chance of buying another roadster that develop the same transmission problem must be 1 in a thousand.. well folks I never win money at lottery but I have do get lucky with problems the same snapping problem I had with the 2013 roadster is now on my 2012 roadster I cannot believe my luck, it started this summer and although not as loud or stronger it is there I load the engine past 2500 up any hills and there it start snap........... snap ..,,,, in my crystal ball I can see another trip to the dealership in the spring overjoyed to spend another $2600 for repairs

Don't replace the gears have them back cut instead. It replace the shift forks etc

I feel your pain brotherman :(

I think I have a similar issue. I can feel something through the left footpeg when the bike is under load from second to fifth. It feels worse the more load I put on such as a passenger or uphill. Someone mentioned it may be a tune and maybe causing the issue. I sent the bike for a dyno tune and still has the same issue and to be honest doesnt feel any different, so that was a waist of a thousand bucks. What grinds my gears is that it is a 2016 Roadster with only 9,500kms. You would think any design issues would have been sorted by then. I would hate to think how much this will cost these days to rectify.
