That’s extraordinary. Why would they offer such a discount for cash? Dealers make money out of finance. They get an initial fee and then commission. The days of hiding cash coming into a legitimate business are long gone.

As far as putting vehicles on tick,,
If the interest rate is low it entices buyers ......thats fine if you have a steady job which will keep you employed and able to make the monthly payments. If things change and your job goes west, you better have the funds to be able to keep the vehicle...just sayin.

My dealer asked me to finance some on the TFC. I told him I didn’t need to but he explained the game in full with numbers and everything. I did finance some to help them out. I don’t plan on carrying that not very long at all. Last month I sent the regular payment plus a 10k.

Actually it might work out better since I may need some of those cash reserves just to make bills during this Covid and government financial disaster.

Must have been a roll-way, onto a trailer / truck type theft. Why I use a caliper lock. I know it wont prevent those who are highly determined, but it will stop the casual thief.

@Rockatansky for me brother, the bike is my primary mode of travel, not my toy. I do have a cage AKA a pickup, but that is for hauling big stuff.

This winter, I lost a single day of riding to work due to icy roads. So why would anyone want to have a bike simply as a toy? Financing it was the same for me as financing a cage. I don't see the difference really. With that said, I am saving money for my next bike so that I do not have to finance. I am finally in a position to make that a reality.

Isn't it hard for dealers to.pay the rent and utilities with loan paper?

I envy you for this (is that said in the right way?) - I privately have no cage, but I have a company car which I use for around 60.000 km / year. And to be honest: it would not be such a pleasure to do this with a bike, because without a Speed Limit on our Highways I make a lot of Kilometers day by day… that would not be very conveniant on a bike...

Thank you for enlighting me, Boog - it is very interesting to enter a motorcycle forum just because of the bike and end up by learning about how different people think at the other sode of the Atlantic...
