Mine is like this. 2013 Roadster. Ignition on sweeps, can hear fuel pump and clicking, stand up, clutch in, hit starter, nothing. Kill switch off then on, hit starter, fires up in one crank. Any reasoning behind this.?
Has happened second time now since new agm battery. Bike only used on weekends so it sits for a week at a time. Issue only occurs on first start after sitting.

Test to see what the voltage is at when you get back from your weekend. After it sits for a week (5-7 days ) test battery again before trying to start it . Could be battery does not hold it's charge even if it is new . Other thing do you have gps or something like that which is wired directly to battery , goes to sleep once you turn key to off . all electronic go to sleep but sit drain battery a little , 24 hrs a day .
Also check connections to battery , to starter , ground to battery , to ground on bike . Take time to clean connectors so that they are metal to metal .

try this
when u push starter button and nothing happens try just holding button in and slowly release clutch.
a test for bad clutch switch
can use a cleaner to clean/repair

Ok tried to start today to bring to triumph perth for service and to check gear sensor which is working intermittently. No luck.
Stand up clutch pulled so gear sensor is not a factor at all. No fire at all.
Turn off and on like 10 times. Runs through sweeps fuel pump sounds. No fire.
Released clutch while holding ignition. One weak crank then nothing again.
Checked battery (agm) after all that and was at 11.84v disconnected. Initially 12.26v. Tried to jump from car also No luck. Battery is charging now. Will try again tomorrow if no luck will have it towed to dealer.
Alternator was fine as batt was reading 14.4v at idle last I rode. 5 days ago 20kms.
Sometimes having the same issue, kill switch on/off will sometimes do the trick, other-times is it because i tried to start it after first rolling backwards because of the way it was parked. If i then first roll it forward and then try it it will start immediately. And other-times just pulling in the clutch and releasing it fast will do the trick.
As you can see, not really found the one and only way to make it start when this problem appears which it does not often but it does happen.
Ok here is update.
Charged batt overnight on tender. Started like there was never an issue.
At workshop now to determine cause. Chatted with Tech and he is with me in that batt should not need to be charged if ridden once a week....let's see what they find
Fired it up a few times at the workshop and was immediate start everyone. Gear sensor also started to work when in there as well...
Ok here is the outcome. Accessory spotlight installed by previous owner had water ingress and was shorted out causing battery to drain while bike is off. Would never have guessed. Let's hope this is the end of my starting problems...
Counted chickens too early. This morning no start again. Few single cranks only.
Same procedure pulled battery trickle charged 3h. Fired like nothing happened. Rode to place I bought batt. They checked and batt healthy, noted possibly less than what they like on CCA on load test. New batt installed under warranty. No issues so far. Have fired it 3 times in the last hour all one touch start (however bike is fully warm so hard to tell if issue persists)
Having a coffee now...hopefully it will bring me home later.

I'm switching everything I own, to Li-po Even my lawn mowers. With no parasitic draw, they hold their charge for months. But do require a special trickle charger if you want to use one. I have the one listed, in two of my Rockets. No upgrading cables, starter, etc. etc. Cranks fast! 480 CCA And light too!
Looks like mine is bad battery. Bike has sat 5 days since replacement on warranty fired up like new today. AGM battery reading when off 12.94V. Key on drops to 12.58v then gradually to 12.51 before I hit ignition. Did not catch the voltage while cranking as it happened to quickly. Fired in 1-2 turns of the starter. Gear sensor works fine as well so the previous intermittent with gear sensors might be due to bad batt as well.
