speed bump damage

First I must say dealer must have a great connection for dope or prescription for it. Man I hope my bikes do not fall apart since I have re-used the bolts 4 times in 60,000 miles. I suppose I could think about replacing them but why wast my thought on something like that :) As for the gasket I use some sealant on the sup plat side of the gasket that way I can pull the sump and the gasket stays on the sump pan so I can use it again. I just wiped the other side with grease so it would not stick to the engine block. I do the same with the clutch cover and get a couple uses out of the gasket before having to buy one.

Also I doubt the sump pan at pin wall is warped as the engine head got damaged in fact come with the bolts ( I guess you can call them new to your bike :))
I have bought parts from them including complete engines. They are a good reliable company and will stand by there mistakes if they make any.

Oh I would not waste my money on paying the dealer to install it I would do it yourself. Just save the labor money for beer or a good dinner if you do not drink.

Thanks Warp, I think that's what I'm going to do. I figured as much with the bolts. Harley wants you too use new bolts with everything you do. . That's because every new bolt has a whit substance on the end of the bolt (thread locker). Of course the don't tell you that. I just clean up the bolts and apply loc tight going back together. I think the dealer is high like you said because it doesn't even say new sump bolts in the manual. I Don't know where he got that. Anyway thanks for the info, I'll be tackling this soon.

Yep if the sump bolts needed to be replaced it would say it in the manual but then I did not change the ones when I split my engine open either just head bolts.

No loctite lite oil maybe but you do not even need that just make sure they are clean.
in the picture below the high lighted bolt holes when pulling the sump. The red arrows are places you can pry to get the sump off. Also open and clean the screens for and aft before installing on the bike.
