hi,
I just finished upgrading spark plugs to laser iridium, 4 hours job including removing fuel tank and EVAP system to reach spark plugs.
Below are my Stock spark plugs which were running Penner tune + Deleted/uninstalled o2 sensor + DNA air filter + Werkes Exhaust for 8000km or 5000mikes
Those spark plugs boot connector are not good at all but I found a way to make them work as they should, so there is a pin/spring inside those spark plug boot connector all the way down which locks to threaded tip of spark plug, that pin is way to loose, I used this tool and pushed the pin little bit inside the circle and i had success with that. After I performed this pin procedure on all of the spark plug boot connectors, I was able to lock them all to spark and I heard the clicking sound as I was pushing the spark plug boot connectors to spark plugs.
But yes, that is indeed a low quality boot connector, The green area is where that pin is suppose to lock on the spark plug top threaded tip, I pushed it inside the circle with this tool.
I am planning to upgrade the ignition coil to Dyna Ignition coils and ignition wires to NGK blue or red boot connectors but not sure when I will do that.
Dynatek coils are available in a wide variety of resistances and output configurations to allow easy replacement of stock coils. Dynatek coils work with factory electronic ignitions, points, and aftermarket ignitions.Choose from four body styles and five different primary resistance ranges to...
May I ask why you changed the plugs? Those still look like new.
I know when I owned my Bonneville America I switched the regular NGK plugs for Iridium ones (curiosity) and didn't notice any improvement in performance. When I finally replaced my plugs on the Rocket after 60,000 kilometers, I used the standard OEM ones. Even at that mileage, the old plugs were still good. I kept them as spares in case of an "oops" moment.

@imcool how many miles on your bike? While you were in there, assuming you've reached 10k miles, did you change the fuel filter and clean the DNA air filter?
Oh, the good ole days of the 2.3s removing the bear claw, one bolt at the steering column, and then propping up the tank like a car hood.
Sorry - didn’t mean to offend. Wrong choice of words - just a throw away comment in uk, different meaning in USA. (just googled it). I will be more careful next time I comment.

DNA filter was installed couple months ago so no need to clean it that early
spark plugs replaced at 10K miles
I did not change fuel filter yet though I have it in stock sitting in my supplies box, still couple months wait to change fuel filter on this

The biggest reason for me to replace those spark plugs is the stock spark are not performance grade, I am hoping to get little bit better mileage out of new spark plugs.
