Southern ride this Spring?

May is too cold for me, average is 49 to 70 degrees. Remember this is in the mountains. I get enough cold riding all winter here.

I'm jammed up in June. Marlinton averages 58 to 80 in July and about a degree less than that in August. Seems fine to me.

We could take a vote to start on 8-9 Wednesdays starting July 2nd. Dont matter to me. We could do rank choice and pick your top 3.

July weather sounds good ! I'm retired so what ever days works for the majority is good for me.

I am ready for some week long vacation if I ever get out of this hell Ime in. I like West Virginia and Kentucky is nice also. We found a good place to stay in Ky with a restaurant next door for dinner and one beside that for breakfast. A gas station crossed the road for beer. Grills on site and a pool.

I liked the looks of that place in Kentucky.

What about the Four Seasons lodge where we stayed before in Richwood WV ? It's a little divey, but has an excellent fire pit area for hanging out.

Its a good place. I figured we try something new this year, and can always go back in the future...or not- we can get opinions on that.

Marlington is quite close to Richwood and does not give you a new riding area. Just a thought if you want new roads and places. Just thinking.

Well the last time in Richwood was a week of rain and not much riding. I've been here a year and have not even scratched the amazing roads. Every direction is a thrill to the senses.

I live a days ride from there so I don't ride the area very often. There are countless roads to ride in that part of the country.

Ok, I did a thing. Room booked for Wed. July 16 through Sunday July 20th at Marlinton Motor Inn. The week before they have higher rates due to Pioneer Days and are crowded, the lady said. Rates are what I mentioned before, single is $58.99/double for $69.99 on weekdays and $68.99/$77.99 for weekends. We have 15 rooms blocked right now but can increase it. Mention the Rocket 3 group when you call. They have some smoking rooms also.
I hope to see many of you there but if you can't make it, I'll just do my own thing like I did for 20 years before I did my first rally at Wytheville, VA with some of you 8 years ago.
