We get all sorts of surface here.
A couple of weeks ago I did a big slide on a wet, smooth corner, fair shat myself !

But yea' that Volcanic rock is generally pretty grippy stuff, hard on tyres tho' ....

Hard on tyres it must rip them apart, what mileage are you getting 4-6000?

Yep, that's about right.
Just over 4K Miles was the worst, or best riding
Or up to 6K Miles, that must have been in the Winter.
I see Guys getting over 10K Miles and wonder how on Earth? Concrete Freeways ? ***** footing around.
Oh that's right, we're not aloud to say *****, I'll just have to say "Catting" around

And your commuting run is really short.
There was some experimenting close to where I work with some different surfaces - to avoid ice based accidents. One was so aggressive that Taxi Drivers would take a different slightly longer route and not charge clients the extra time/mileage - just to avoid the tyre wear. This was before I had the R3. When teh bus company started to complain - they had to resurface again. Reduced tyre life by half.
