Something Broke ( gonna make more powerful 220hp coming up)

Were gonna take apart the bad damper today, looking at the damper it is not assembled like the other two are im comparing it too. There is a spacer missing at compensator at gear, were gonna check it out, Konrad is coming over and were also gonna set timing to get ccp correct, its at 195 right now, check valve clearances. I really think this happened because of me though, a mistake i will not repeat.
 
A few findings, the torsional damper is jammed stuck on shaft way pass normal range to stop, its locked up and causing compensator to slap gear. @SpazOnaR3 there is 4.5mm clearance to ribs and we can find more space taking off the tops of the ribs where the gear might touch. So before we did anything with the engine i reinstalled torsional damper and stator cover and starter, Konrad pulled top and removed all plugs, cleaned checked and reinstalled 1 per hole. On to ccp with a running truck outside the door of garage and we spun that baby up and it cranked good and fast like Neville likes, 170psi with my new snap on gauge, all 3 holes, so we reset the timing and walla, Neville was right again 210psi, the reason i mention this is because when i built this engine 10000 miles ago i swore i had 210psi and i did not. Now i do. Valves are all exactly where i set them. Gonna put it back together with bored out throttle body, k&n filters, and full LMS exhaust. And its back to the dyno, its kinda hot down here in the south. Its all good guys, tge widowmaker will be its strongest yet. Next update running, @Nashvegas whenever you got a second its ready to slam back in.
 
The torsional damper that is messed up is mechanic/assembler mistake. Spacer was put on wrong side of gear allowing bearing and gear to actually Move on shaft towards differential. Human error not sure mine or someone elses as i have changed bearings and oil seal but can’t remember if i did this or not, its been several years ago if it is on me. And it lived a violent life.
 
Going to KY for the weekend, Monday morning? Man, I am so glad the damage was isolated to right there. It could have gotten really ugly and that is a sweet engine. Oh, my quick shift gets installed on the 10th. Better bump that ***** up another 10hp.
