We came to the conclusion that once you are up into the upper rpm range it must stay linear power-wise. Don’t drop off and then slam full throttle. Next gear to give it “room” or you are asking too much from it, mechanically. I just feel bad because we didn’t notice the compressed part and I mentioned that maybe the starter solenoid kicked in against the flywheel. He popped that sucker off in two minutes. Nope, clean. Oops! He was absolutely right of where the sound,/problem was.
I should’ve taken an auto mechanics class in the 70s instead of woodworking! It always seemed so daunting to break an engine down. Hang out with Kevin, you’ll break some engines down. I will never, ever take my bike to the dealership again. This man knows what he is doing and I am getting O.J.T.
