If youre gonna racem. Top of 2nd gear, 7k rpm, 95mph, i heard something twist, break, made shift to to 3rd and realized engine was ok, no lights, but a knocking sound coming from torsional damper area. Limped home in 1st as i was like whatever im going back in again anyway. The noise (clanking) is in the case. I was hoping i broke a driveshaft u joint but the noise is in the case. Ive raised rear and turned wheel by hand, it rolls over ok. Transmission shifts ok up and down. Im betting i broke the torsional damper spring and its making contact with something hard and clanking as it spins. Take your bets

It was the loose nuts fault i believe though, bad throttle control while turning high rpms in 2nd gear. Wrenching it at 6k in 2nd was not smart. Way to much pressure on output shaft and torsional damper, transmission held with the spirolocs, if it is torsional damper, i will make better and try to move damage to driveline axle, u joints. All speculation until i open. Been wanting to get into to redo timing, getting cp correct and check valve clearances after 6000miles of torture, funnest 6k yet on widowmaker. Bigger better stronger coming up.

Listening to the video sounds like there's still metal rubbing. The big parts are probably in the screen. I'd want to look at it just to be sure.

Because i heard something break and my engine is fine and my transmission is shifting fine and each gear does work, and rolling over the rear tire in air is smooth and with no power to output shaft theres no clanking, but when i add throttle and the torsional damper shaft spins that when i hear the clanking, if and im hoping the spring just broke and springs for the most part break clean not necessarily dessengrate into scarf. Sounds just like the torsional damper shaft hitting broke spring.

Would probably be the lesser of all evils, good luck.
