Sluggish Idle after bike heats up...

Sooo,

Dealer said they basically took the Throttle Bodies apart, cleaned them and the TPS, and then reprogrammed the sensors and now it works fine.

Their diagnosis is that the TPS (throttle position sensor) went out of spec at one point and then came back into spec. When it did, even though it was reading true, the throttle bodies were not aligned to the TPS and the secondary throttles were staying completely open.

After cleaning and reloading the software a couple of times (based on input from Triumph) they say the system is realigned and working fine. They checked the ECU, Throttle Bodies and TPS thoroughly.

I am not super excited about the answer as nothing was really “Fixed” per se, but I guess that is the way it goes with Software driven bikes.

Not to worry my friend if the fix does not last then change the Primary TPS. At least you gotthe throttle bodies clean better then copious amounts of WD40 which I use atleast once a season depening on how much time I get to ride:D

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. I am really hoping they are right and things will run smoothly for a while. At least until the snow flies!

I am glad u got it taken care of more than likely it was something sticking .
i don't know if this was the one that they could not get to work in closed loop if it was it might have been because of the code.
mine has messed up about 4 times and i give it a few quick revs and clean like warp says and it goes back to normal. here in arizona we have a fine sand and i think thats what sticks it.
good riding and if u have a problem just sing out for help.:)
