Seems like several folks are reporting clutch slip after even moderate power increases. I was wondering if maybe they had oil choice in common. It seems all too easy to get oils with "friction modifiers" these days.
Dude, if your dealer will install another stock clutch, I'd go for it. So what it lasts another 3-4K...? Maybe it will last longer-you know? Buy the Barnett, and one day when you feel like it, put it in IMHO...
My dealer said that consumable parts like the clutch plates are not covered by warantee, but labor might still be. The plates are just like brake pads. They wear out, but should last a good while longer, though til now no bike could stomp as much torque on those parts before either.
On the old bikes that is not a sign the clutch plates are shot, just the springs are too loose. The bolt that retains them is also the adjustment, a few twists and a little fiddling to be sure all is equal and you are good to go forth and WHEELIE, (but on the Bonnie it always stretches the chain)
