G’day folks, on nearly all my bikes I’ve ran aftermarket rear suspension, WP, Hagon, Progressive etc. On my last R111 I had Hagon and am looking at putting on Hagon again.
But whilst scanning that certain Auction place, I came across a company I’d not heard of before, YSS suspension.
Any feedback back please, their prices look competitive enough, but I’ve no idea if they’re any good.

Average to excellent depending on version.
The cheaper (thinner rod) versions) made and assembled in Thailand where company based.
They manufacture higher end components as well and in Australia these are custom specc'ed and assembled and distributed by an Australian importer to customer requirements based on riders weight and riding style or race track use etc to set damping, rebound and spring rate range.
Parts on high end models are assembled in Australia. (piggyback gas etc ) but are probably made in Thailand too with stock spring rates.
Lots online/eBay etc sold out of Italy and YSS is now a major world supplier of motorcycle suspensions.
Quite a few on the forum have bought them so you should be able to search YSS on the forum and find reviews, commentrs etc.but like Progressive the range varies by quality and price.
The cheapest versions match or slightly exceed the Triumph stock versions but the middle and high level units (with thicker rods and wider body tubes etc), outperform the Triumph stock units by a comfortable margin.
Read the Aussie web site and google for more reviews etc.

Thanks for that, they are available here in the U.K. and price wise seem on par with a lot of the others. My main concern however is would they stand up to the riggers of a British winter.
If they can withstand Aussie road conditions ( I lived in QLD for 8 years) that side won’t worry me. What I’m more concerned about is, how will the finish stand up to road conditions here, once it starts getting icy, down goes the road salt. This stuff is lightly coat some sticky stuff, so it don’t get washed away easily. It can hang around for ages, eating into finishes. It particularly likes chromed alloys.
Got a question, In the late 1990’s, Triumph Australia ran a Bike Rally in the Snowie Mountains, is it still going? Only ask as I went to the first one.

Yep regular but not Annual.

I am wearing now the 2016 Jindabyne RAT rally T-shirt from one of Triumph Australia's promo weekends.
I have been to the Hahndorf one in Adelaide SA Ranges and the Batemans Bay NSW one a couple of years ago.
There is also a semi-annual bike rally (not run by Triumph) that goes to the Snowy region every year.

I know Hahndorf, when I worked for Simon National Carriers. We went all around there loading wine or delivering silos to the Vineyards around the region. They brew some nice beer in the region as well if I remember.
